You’ve all seen it.  Fashion magazines with tall, lanky models looking like they are standing in the storm of the century but with PERFECTLY PLACED flowing hair (too much for any normal person) and an expression that could kill.  Hello awesome.  (aaaaand by awesome I mean total photo magic.) BUT before we get to that I of COURSE need to give this girl some cred.  Meet Megan Engeseth Photography Senior Model- Kylee Jo!  Kylee Jo is the FIRST feature of MANY on my most amazing models of the Class of 2015 that get to be part of something HUGE to celebrate their final year in highschool.

 

Kylee Jo is from Belle Plaine High School BUT is currently taking classes at Mankato State…because she’s so freak’n smart.

Let’s list off a few awesome things about her to embarrass her.  1. She’s a dancer. AND had hip surgery but always dances like no one is watching. 2.  She has a crested gecko named Bean.  I kinda want to have a playdate with Bean.  3. She has a self-proclamed dress obsession  and finally 4. She makes the best damn pizza ever (again, self proclaimed…but now I’m craving pizza).

Wind in your hair teaser!

Ok-I’ll give away a few secrets.  Some photographers use HUGE INDUSTRIAL sized fans that make your eyes water and your skin flap to create these beautiful blowing locks!

Me?  A little ingenuity, an assistant and photoshop really help!  My assistant uses a small round reflector to gust the wind lightly up at the senior to blow the hair up and out while I snap a bazillion images to get THE PERFECT expression.  And guess what?  I then use photoshop to swap faces and add in hair to make the perfect, model blowing effect!! Ta da!

Why photoshop faces?  BECAUSE MY SENIORS ARE LAUGHING THEIR BUTTS OFF THE ENTIRE TIME… It’s pretty fun…
