This session highlights a fashion-forward senior portrait experience photographed in my St. Paul studio, blending editorial styling with guided direction.

Did you know that sometimes, when scrounging around dark alleys looking for the PERFECT photoshoot spots the best ones are the…um…dirtiest? Let’s just say there was a *ahem*  piece of trash in this awesome alleyway that WE DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE.  And then I started editing…yup. That’s my job.  Cleaning up nasty things in alleyways via Photoshop since 2010. (Curious? Message me I’ll totally tell you EVERYTHING).  I guess that’s what I get for loving the grungy, dark, textured areas for photoshoots.  I’m so glad I always have a pretty girl with me, her mom and my assistant…otherwise I’d probably just look like some creepy photographer scrounging in dark alleys all day!

Back to the amazing Senior, Ellen!  Ellen and her mom drove over two hours for her senior session from Mosinee, WI.  Can I tell you how amazed I am by this girl?  Her clothing choices. PERFECT. Natural in front of the camera? YUP. And hilarious to boot!  (ask her how she “lost her phone”. 🙂 )  The stars aligned for this Senior Picture Session.  Ellen went with the GORGEOUS SESSION so we had full hair and makeup and 3 hours of amazing shooting time with tons of looks!  Her looks: Retro Bikini, short sassy dress, casual tshirt and jeans, AMAZING long red dress (think perfect prom dress!) and finally kick a$$ snowboard chick.  Her mom even got all glammed up (Thanks Emile!) and snuck in for a couple. I swear, if I didn’t know who was who I wouldn’t have the slightest clue which was which!
