When HR emails and says it’s time for a new headshot, the instinct for most people is to panic. What do I wear. What do I do with my face. Why does every photo of me look like a hostage situation.
Charlene didn’t do that. When her new position in medicine and research called for updated professional images, she booked a session and started thinking about which outfits would work best for her LinkedIn and CV. That’s the right energy. A new role deserves a photo that actually matches who you are right now, not a five-year-old image from a conference you barely remember.
She already knew she could trust me. I’d photographed her family and her senior, so when it was her turn, she came back to my St. Paul studio. That kind of trust means everything.

A new position is a legitimate reason to get excited about refreshing your professional image. Your LinkedIn photo, your hospital bio, your research profile, your CV — these are the first things people see before they meet you in person. They should look like the current version of you, not a previous chapter.
Charlene came in knowing exactly that. She needed something polished and credible for a new role in medicine and research — but she also wanted images that felt like her, not a generic corporate portrait that could belong to anyone. Clean, professional, and curated specifically for her look. That was the goal.
Every headshot session starts with wardrobe guidance and styling direction before photo day. Charlene came in with two strong outfit combinations — a navy blazer over a soft blue shirt for a clean, classic look, and a lavender top layered under a black blazer for something with a little more personality. Both worked beautifully.
I photographed her against both a clean white background and a deep teal — giving her a full range of options for different platforms and uses. LinkedIn, hospital profiles, research bios, speaking engagements — each context calls for something slightly different, and having variety means she’s covered across all of them.
That’s the practical value of a well-planned headshot session. You walk out with images that work everywhere, not just one photo you hope will stretch across every context.

Charlene is a natural. She has an easy, genuine smile that photographs beautifully, and because we’d worked together before, there was already a comfort level in the room. I coached her through posture, positioning, and expression — small adjustments that make a significant difference on camera — and she trusted the process completely.
Arms crossed, shoulders open, relaxed — we worked through it all. The result is a set of images that feel polished and intentional without looking posed or stiff. Confident without being stiff. Warm without being casual. That’s exactly what a professional headshot should do, especially in a field where people need to trust you before they’ve even met you.
I’ve photographed Charlene’s family. I’ve photographed her senior. And now I’ve photographed her stepping into the next chapter of her career. That continuity matters to me. It means I already understand how she wants to be seen — and I can get there faster because the trust is already built.
When someone comes back, it tells me the experience was worth repeating. That’s the thing I care most about.
If you’re navigating a new role, a promotion, a rebrand, or simply an overdue update, professional headshots at my St. Paul studio are a streamlined, guided experience from start to finish. You don’t need to figure out what to wear, how to pose, or what looks good on camera. That’s my job.
Don’t wait until HR is chasing you down. Book ahead, show up with your outfits, and walk out with something that actually looks like you — at your best.
