Not every senior needs a four location, three hour session to get stunning portraits. Some seniors know exactly who they are, what they want, and how they want to look. For those seniors, a studio mini session is often the perfect fit.
Every month I offer a small number of studio mini sessions out of my St. Paul studio, focused, intentional portrait experiences designed for seniors who want something beautiful without the full session commitment.
What Is a Senior Portrait Mini Session?#
A senior mini session is a shorter, more streamlined version of my full senior portrait experience. Instead of multiple locations and extended session time, we keep everything contained to my St. Paul studio, move efficiently through one or two looks, and walk away with a tight, beautiful set of images.
Mini sessions are not rushed or generic. Every session is still fully guided, fully directed, and completely tailored to your senior. The difference is focus — and sometimes that’s exactly what makes the images better.
What’s Included in Every Mini Session#
Every studio mini session includes professional makeup application so your senior arrives camera-ready without any of the day-before stress. Makeup is applied by a professional artist on the day of your session, designed to enhance your senior’s natural features and photograph beautifully without looking overdone.
Sessions also include:
- Two to three looks in my St. Paul studio
- Professional direction and posing throughout
- Immediate review and selection after your session
- 2 retouched images in digital form
- 3 for the price of 2 add ons day of
After your session we’ll meet for an image reveal and selection where you can grab your favorites and design any wall art or albums you’d like.

What to Expect on Mini Session Day#
You’ll arrive at my St. Paul studio with your outfits planned and your hair done. Professional makeup application happens at the start of your session. From there we move straight into shooting — no wasted time, no chaos, just a calm and guided portrait experience from start to finish.
Most seniors are surprised by how quickly they settle in and how much they enjoy the process. The focused format actually works in your favor. There’s less downtime, less waiting, and more energy throughout.

My studio is located in St. Paul, just minutes from downtown Minneapolis, making it an easy drive for seniors across the Twin Cities metro including Edina, Minnetonka, Wayzata, Maple Grove, Roseville, and beyond.
